Capturing the Heart of Sustainability: The Refillery Canterbury's First Anniversary

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a truly special event—the first anniversary of The Refillery in Canterbury. For those who don’t know, The Refillery is a fantastic sustainable refill shop that’s changing the way we shop by offering eco-friendly, packaging-free products. To mark this milestone, the shop hosted a celebration with none other than the Mayor and Mayoress of Canterbury as guests of honour.

A Sustainable Celebration

The event was a beautiful blend of community spirit and sustainability, perfectly reflecting The Refillery's ethos. The shop was buzzing with excitement as customers, staff, and local supporters gathered to celebrate a year of making a positive impact on our environment. With the Mayor and Mayoress adding a touch of ceremony to the proceedings, it was clear this was more than just a store—it was a movement.

Capturing the Moment

In my usual documentary style, I focused on capturing the essence of the day. From the joyful interactions between the guests to the pride on the faces of The Refillery’s team, every shot was about telling the story of this milestone moment. The candid photos highlighted not just the event itself, but the passion behind the brand—showing how The Refillery is more than a shop; it’s a community hub committed to sustainable living.

A Happy Client

The Refillery’s team was thrilled with the photos, and I’m proud to have been able to capture their brand in such a meaningful way. It’s always rewarding to work with clients who are making a difference, and being able to document their journey through my lens is something I truly cherish.
